Buttonholes

are

generally

sewn

onto

a

piece

of

doubled

fabric.

However,

for

some

mateiials,

eg.

silk,

organza

and

viscous

fabric,

it

is

necessary

to

use

a

stabilizer

to

prevent

the

material

from

puckering

during

sewing.

To

produce

beautiful

seams,

good

embroidering

or

darning

threads

are

ideally

suitable.
