EngineAuto-Start/StopSystem
Auto-Startwillsoundthevehicle'shorn
withtwoshorthonk5secondsbefore
thesystemstartstheengine.The
vehicle'shornsoundsonlyifadoor
hasbeenopenedaftertheAuto-Start
Systemisengaged.Thisistoprevent
disturbingasleepingpassenger.
PressingtheDISABLEbuttonwillalso
interrupttheAuto-Startsystemand
preventtheenginefromautomatically
starting.
Oncetheoperatorturnstheignition
switchtotheONposition,the
Auto-Startsystemwillde-activate,
allowingthetrucktobedrivenwithout
shuttingtheengineoff.TheAuto-Start
featurewillalsodeactivateiftheengine
doesnotstart.
Ifyourvehicleisalsoequippedwithan
EngineIdleShutdownTimer(EIST),
theAuto-Startsystemwilloverride
EISTandmayruntheenginelonger
thanthetimeallowedbytheEIST
system.Thisfeatureisonlyavailable
withanon-greenhousegas(GHG)
creditEISTsystem.
WhentheEASisactiveitwilloperate
theengineatahigher-than-normal
idlespeed,approximately1,000rpm.
Thisallowsthevehicle'sbatteriesto
rechargemorequickly.Italsoplaces
alowerloadontheaftertreatment
system,requiringlessfrequentregens.
