Tires and
Wheels
Tires Check inflation pressure; see Tires on
page 261.
Weekly "cold" using calibrated
gauge.
Inspect for cuts, irregular wear, missing
lugs, sidewall damage, etc.
•
Disc Wheels Inspect the wheel disc for any cracks or
surface irregularities. Inspect the rim
edge and bead seat area for damage.
Replace any damaged wheels - DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO REPAIR.

Demountable Rims Inspect the mounting ring, rim gutter, side
ring, and lock ring for damage: replace as
required.
•
Wheel Nuts and Studs Check the tightness of the fasteners and
tighten the fasteners to the specified
torque as required; see Wheels on page
264.
•
Inspect for damaged hex corners,
stripped or damaged threads, and
excessive corrosion: clean or replace as
required.
