AirDryer
Thefunctionoftheairdryeristocollect
andremoveairsystemcontaminantsin
solid,liquidandvaporformbeforethey
enterthebrakesystem.Itprovides
clean,dryairtothecomponentsof
thebrakesystem,whichincreases
thelifeofthesystemandreduces
maintenancecosts.
NOTE
Becausenotwovehiclesoperate
underidenticalconditions,mainte-
nanceandmaintenanceintervals
willvary.Experienceisavaluable
guideindeterminingthebestmain-
tenanceintervalforanyonepartic-
ularoperation.

monthscheckformoistureintheair
brakesystembyopeningairtanks,
draincocks,orvalvesandcheckingfor
presenceofwater.
NOTE
Asmallamountofoilinthesystem
maybenormalandshouldnot,init-
self,beconsideredareasontore-
placethedesiccantcartridge.Oil
staineddesiccantcanfunctionade-
quately.
Atablespoonofwaterfoundinthe
airtankwouldpointtotheneedfora
desiccantcartridgechange.However,
thefollowingconditionscanalso
causewateraccumulationandshould
beconsideredbeforereplacingthe
desiccantcartridge.

andnotnormalforahighway
vehicle.Thismaybedueto
accessoryairdemandsorsome
unusualairrequirementthat
doesnotallowthecompressor
