AxleCreepRatingDenition
CreepRatings
Lowspeed,off-highway(worksite)
axleloads,whichexceedthestandard
grossaxleweightrating(GAWR)ofa
particularaxle.
Operator'susingvehiclesequipped
withliftableauxiliaryaxlesmust
considercreepratingswhenany
liftableaxleisunloadedorintheraised
position.Liftableauxiliaryaxlesshould
onlyberaised(orunloaded)toimprove
maneuverabilityinanoff-roaduseor
whenvehicleisunloaded.
NOTE
AxleCreepratingsMUSTNOTbe
exceeded.
Contactyourdealeroraxle
manufacturertodeterminewhat
thecreepratingisforyourparticular
axle(s)andconguration.Creep
ratingsaregenerallylimitedtothe
following:
•Tandemrearaxlesonly
•Straighttrucksonly
•Maximumspringmount
centersperaxlemanufacturers
specications
•Maximumtirestaticloadedradius
(SLR)peraxlemanufacturers
specications
CAUTION
Alwayslowertheaxlesassoon
aspossibleafterreceivingaload.
Neverexceed5milesperhourwhen
drivingwithaloadwiththeauxil-
iaryaxle(s)raised/unloaded.Failure
tolowertheaxle(s)canoverload
theframeandremainingaxles,and
couldcauseequipmentdamage.
WARNING!
Neveroperatethevehiclewithmore
pressureintheliftaxlesthanisnec-
essarytocarrytheload,asdeter-
minedbythecalibrationprocedure
described.Failuretodosocanre-
sultinlossoftractionandstabilityat
thesteerand/ordriveaxlesandcan
resultinincreasedbrakingdistance
whichcouldcauselossofvehicle
controlresultinginanaccident.Fail-
uretocomplymayresultindeath,
personalinjury,equipmentorprop-
ertydamage.
