tenancechecksaswellashaving
anysuspectedproblemsimmedi-
atelycheckedbyanauthorized
dealer.Failuretoproperlymaintain
yourbrakesystemcanleadtose-
riousaccidents.Failuretocomply
mayresultindeath,personalinjury,
equipmentorpropertydamage.

Donotdrivethroughwaterdeep
enoughtowetbrakecomponents,
asitmaycausethebrakestowork
lessefîš¿cientlythannormal.The
vehicle'sstoppingdistancemaybe
longerthanexpected,andthevehi-
clemaypulltotheleftorrightwhen
brakesareapplied,whichcould
contributetoanaccidentinvolving
deathorpersonalinjury.

temthatisfunctioningimproperly.
Youcouldlosecontrolofthevehi-
cleresultinginasevereaccident,
causingdeathorpersonalinjury.If
yourABSlampgoesonwhileyou
aredrivingorstaysonaftertheself-
check,youranti-locksystemmight
notbeworking.TheABSmaynot
functioninanemergency.Youwill
stillhaveconventionalbrakes,but
notanti-lockbrakes.Ifthelampin-
dicatesaproblem,havetheABS
checked.
Vehicleswithoutanti-lockbrake
systems(ABS)aretypicallyequipped
withabobtailbrakeproportioning
system.Whenatrailerisnot
connected,thedriveaxlebrake
applicationpressurewillautomatically
belimitedbytheproportioningsystem.
