Incoldweather,fastenginestarting
helpsrelievetheloadsontheelectrical
systemandcrankingmotor.Usingthe
specialcoldstartingequipmentwill
helpstarting.Ifyoufollowafewsimple
guidelines,youwillextendtheservice
lifeofyourengine.
•Keeptheelectricalsystemintop
condition.
•Usethebestqualityfuelofthe
recommendedgrade.
•Userecommendedengine
lubricatingoil.
•Fullydepresstheaccelerator
pedalafterengagingthestarter.
•Formanualtransmissionsand
auxiliarytransmissions,leavethe
transmissioninneutralandallow
thetransmissionlubricatingoil
towarmup(approximately3-5
minutes)beforeoperatingvehicle.
EngineBlockHeater
(Option)
Topreheattheenginebeforestarting,
plugtheoptionalengineblockheater
intoaproperlygroundedACelectrical
source.Donotstarttheenginewith
theheaterpluggedin.
WARNING!
Engineblockheaterscancause
reswhichmayresultindeath,in-
juryand/orpropertydamageifnot
properlymaintainedandoperated.
Regularlyinspecttheengineblock
heaterwiringandconnectorfor
damagedorfrayedwires.Donot
usetheheaterifthereareanysigns
ofproblems.Contactyourautho-
rizeddealerorthemanufacturerof
theheaterifyouareinneedofre-
pairsorinformation.
