InspectionGuidelines
Followtheseguidelineswhen
inspectingforcuts,fraying,extreme
orunusualwearofthewebbing,
anddamagetothebuckle,retractor,
hardware,orotherfactors.Damageto
theseareasindicatesthatbeltsystem
replacementisnecessary.
WARNING!
Replacetheentirebeltsystem(re-
tractorandbuckleside)ifreplace-
mentofanyonepartisnecessary.
Unexposeddamagetooneormore
componentscouldpreventthesys-
temfromfunctioningproperlythe
nexttimeitisneeded.Failureto
complymayresultindeathorper-
sonalinjury.
1.Checkthewebwearinthesystem.
Thewebbingmustbeclosely
examinedtodetermineifitis
comingintocontactwithanysharp
orroughsurfacesontheseator
otherpartsofthecabinterior.
Theseareasaretypicalplaces
wherethewebwillexperience
cuttingorabrasion.Cuts,fraying,
orexcessivewearwouldindicate
theneedforreplacementofthe
seatbeltsystem.
2.Thepillarwebguide(D-loop)is
theareawherealmostconstant
movementoftheseatbelt
webbingoccursbecauseof
relativemovementbetweenthe
seatandcab.
3.ChecktheKomfort-Latchfor
cracksorpossibledamageand
checkforproperoperation.
4.Checkbuckleandlatchforproper
operationandtodetermineif
latchplateisworn,deformed,or
damaged.
5.Inspecttheretractorwebstorage
device,whichismountedonthe
oorofthevehicle,fordamage.
