Brakeadjustmentandbrakebalance
mustbesetcarefullyto(1)make
themostefcientuseoftheforces
availableforbrakingand(2)allow
equalstoppingforcesatallwheels.
CAUTION
Theairbrakesystemofthisvehicle
wasconguredforONEofthefol-
lowingoperations:tractorortruck,
andcomplieswiththerespective
portionsofFMVSS121.Atractor
shallnotbeoperatedorcongured
asatruck,norshallatruckbeop-
eratedorconguredasatractor,
withoutsignicantmodicationsto
theairbrakesysteminordertore-
taincompliancewithFMVSS121.

Onceabrakesystemissetto
specications,changinganyoneof
itscomponentsoranycombinationof
componentsmaycausethesystem
tonotworkaswell.Allpartshave
toworktogethertoperformasthey
should.Anyreplacementcomponents
inyourbrakesystemshouldbeexactly
equaltotheoriginalcomponents.
Anychangesfromtheoriginal
specicationscanaffectthewhole
