connections,clamps,brackets,
andfastenersfordeterioration,
cracks,andsecurity.
•Ifyoundanairleakanywhere
betweentheaircleanerand
theengine,repairthatleak
immediately.
CAUTION
Airleakscauseexcessivenoiseand
mayresultinseriousdamagetothe
engine.Ifyoudonotrepairthemthe
enginedamagewillnotbecovered
byyourwarranty.Repairallairleaks
assoonasyoundthem.
EngineMountedNoiseInsulators
•Checkcondition.Istheinsulator
secure?Howyoudothiswill
dependonthemethodofattaching
thenoiseinsulatorsontheengine
andaroundtheoilpan(bolts,
snapfasteners,orstraps).Tighten
loosefastenersandrepairor
replaceanywornordamaged
fasteners.
•Checkinsulatorsaroundfasteners
andstresspoints,especially
wheretheymaybeaffectedby
enginevibration.Repairany
crackedordamagedmounting
points.Usesuitablereinforcing
platestoensurethattheinsulators
willremaininposition.
ExhaustSystem
•Checkforexhaustleaks,
whichwouldindicatealeaking
manifoldgasket;replacegasketif
necessary.
•Checkcapscrewsfortightness,
includingthoseattheanges.
Refertotheenginemanufacturer's
servicemanualforproper
tighteningsequenceandtorque
values.
