Air Conditioning Switch
The cab air can be heated, cooled or
dehumidified using the air conditioning unit.
The air conditioning unit only functions if:
the engine is running.
the fan is running.
Use of the Air Conditioning
1. When the air conditioning is in use,
the windows must remain closed.
2. To reduce the temperature quickly, first
use maximum air speed. Later, the air
speed can be reduced.
3. Avoid direct cold draught on your
body.
4. Make sure that the temperature
difference between the inside and
outside of the cab does not exceed
40°F (5°C) when you leave the cab.
You are therefore advised to switch off
the air conditioning towards the end of
your journey.
5. Air conditioning consumes extra
power and increases the fuel
consumption.
6. On extreme angles (slopes, ruts and
difficult terrain) switch off the air
conditioning, to protect the
compressor pump against
unlubricated operation.
7. Regularly (once a month) switch on
the air conditioning briefly, even if
cooling is not required (e.g. in winter).
This will help prevent serious damage
to the system (including compressor
blockage).
