Paint Identification Plate
The paint identification plate is attached to
the bulkhead behind the front panel.
Vehicle Identification
Label
The vehicle identification plate is located
on the door jamb.
Each vehicle uses a Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN) that contains the model year
designation of your vehicle. The practice is
in compliance with 49 CFR 565, Code of
Federal Regulations. The VIN contains 17
digits. The 10th digit is the code for the
model year of your vehicle. The example
VIN below from a 1999 model shows how
this code works:

Federal Safety Standard
Certification Label
The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration regulations require a label
certifying compliance with Federal Safety
Standards, for United States and U.S.
Territories, be affixed to each motor vehicle
and prescribe where such label may be
located. This certification label, which
indicates the date of manufacture and
other pertinent information, is located on
the left hand cab door post.
