Calculatesthedriver’sintended
pathoftravelfromwheelspeedand
steeringanglesensors,thencompares
calculationstotheactualdirectionof
travel.Thesystemusesindividual
wheelbrakestore-adjustthepathof
thevehicle.
•Illuminatesduringthepower-on
self-testwhentheignitionis
turnedON.Itturnsoffafterafew
secondsifnosystemproblems
aredetected.IfanESCproblem
isdetected,theESCwarninglamp
willturnonandstayon.
•IlluminateswhentheESCsystem
isregulatingindividualwheel
brakestocorrectthevehicle’s
directionoftravel.
2.Axle,TractionControl(ATC
orAutomaticTractionControl)
Watchesvehicle’swheelspeeds
todetectslippageandmayreduce
enginepower,orapplyvehiclebrakes,
tohelpincreasetraction.
•Illuminatesduringthepower-on
self-testwhentheignitionis
turnedON.Itturnsoffafterafew
secondsifnosystemproblems
aredetected.IfanATCproblemis
detected,theATCwarninglamp
willturnonandstayon.
•IlluminateswhentheATCis
regulatingwheelspinandturnsoff
afterthetractioncontroleventhas
ended.
•Flashescontinuouslywhenthe
ATC/DeepSnow&Mudswitch
isturnedon,indicatingthatthis
featureisactive.
3.Brakes,Anti-LockBrake
System(ABS)
IlluminatesduringtheInstrumentation
SystemSelf-T est.HavetheABS
systemcheckedbyanauthorized
dealeriftheABSWarningLampstays
onformorethan3seconds.
Illuminatesduringnormaloperating
conditionstoindicateaproblemwith
