recoveredfrombeingstuck,donot
permitthevehicletobetowedfor
longdistanceswithoutremoving
thedriveshaft.
TireChains
Ifyouneedtirechains,installthemon
bothsidesofthedrivingaxle.
CAUTION
Chainsonthetiresofonlyonetan-
demaxlecandamagethedriveline
U-jointsandtheinteraxledifferen-
tial.Repairscouldbecostlyand
time-consuming.Failuretocomply
mayresultinequipmentdamage.
TowingtheVehicle
Towingthevehicleshouldbedone
byeitheranauthorizeddealer
oracommercialvehicletowing
service.Thedealerorcommercial
towingservicewillhavethenecessary
equipmenttosafelytowthevehicleand
shouldbeabletomakearrangements
tolimitanydamagetothevehicle.The
towingserviceandthedealershould
beawareoftowingregulationsand
safetyprecautions.
Thetowingservicewillensurethatthe
followingprecautionsaretaken:
•Useofasafetychainsystem.
•Abidebyalllocaltowing
regulations.
•Ensurethatthetowingdevice
doesnotcontactanysurfacesthat
couldbedamagedwhileintransit.
•Iftowingfromthefront,ensure
thattherearaxlesareprepared
fortowing.
•Iftowingfromtherear,ensure
thatallbodycomponentssuchas
roof,sideandchassisfairingsare
securedproperlytoavoiddamage
whileintransit.
WARNING!
Securetheroof,sideandchassis
fairingswhiletowingfromtherear.
Anunsecuredfairingmaycomeoff
ofthevehicleduringtransit.Failure
tosecurethefairingswhiletowing
maycauseaninjuryaccidentresult-
ingindeathorpersonalinjury.
