NOTE

rotatingthevalve.

withtheLHvalveonthenext
step.
3.Loosenthefastenersmountinga
heightcontrolvalvetoitsbracket.
WARNING!
•Therearofavehiclewill
dropabout31/2inches(88
mm)whentheairspringsare
deated.Ensurethatnopersons
orobjectsthatcouldbekilled,
injuredordamagedareunder
thevehiclebeforedeatingthe
airsprings.
•Tominimizeriskofdeath,
personalinjuryorproperty
damage,donotuseadump
valvetodeatetheairsprings.
Rotatetheheightcontrol
valve(s)manuallytoensure
positivecontrolofairspring
deation.
•Tominimizeriskofdeathor
personalinjury,keepawayfrom
airspringsastheyarebeing
inated.
4.Rotatethevalveeitherclockwiseor
counterclockwiseuntilairpressurein
theairspringsprovidestherideheight
speciedforthatsuspension.Measure
therideheightfromthebottomofthe
framerailtotheapproximatecenterline
oftherearmostdriveaxlehub:
•Fortandemaxles,makethe
verticalmeasurementatthe
centerlineofthesuspension(see
illustrationonpage4-40).
•Forasingleaxle,makethe
measurementinfrontoftheaxle,
intheareaforwardofthetiresbut
notpastthesuspensionbracket.
5.Whenatthecorrectrideheight,
ensurethattheheightcontrolvalve
leverisintheneutralposition,then
installeitherthebuilt-inalignment
pinora1/8-inch(3-mm)dowel(see
illustrationonpage4-40).
