Transmission)
Manualtransmissionswillalsohavea
clutchpedalsituatedtotheleftofthe
brakepedal.Pressingdownonthe
clutchpedalwilldisengagetheclutch
andwillallowthetransmissiongears
tobeshifted.
Atthebeginningofthepedalstroke,
therewillbeabout13/4in.to2in.
(34to51mm)ofmovementbefore
anyresistanceisfelt.Asthepedalis
pressedfurther,theoperatorwillfeel
increasedresistanceastheclutchis
disengaged.Aftertheclutchhasbeen
fullydisengaged,therewillbeanother
1-1½inches(25-40mm)ofpedal
travelwhichwillengagetheclutch
brake.Atthisfullstroke,thepedalwill
feellikeitcannotbepressedanymore.
Ifthetransmissionisnotshifting
smoothlyintogearwhiletheclutch
pedaliscompletelypressedtothe
oor,thenitistimetohavetheclutch
systeminspectedandserviced.
CAUTION
Donotpushtheclutchpedalcom-
pletelytotheoorwhenshifting
whilethevehicleisinmotion.us-
ingtheclutchbrakewhileshifting
avehicleinmotionwilldamage
theclutchbrake.Anonfunctioning
clutchbrakewillmakeshiftingvery
difcultwhenthevehicleisstation-
ary.
Iftheclutchpedalispressed
completelytotheoorandthe
transmissionisnotshifting,thenitis
timetohavetheclutchadjustedor
serviced.
