recoveredfrombeingstuck,donot
permitthevehicletobetowedfor
longdistanceswithoutremoving
thedriveshaft.
TireChains
Ifyouneedtirechains,installthemon
bothsidesofthedrivingaxle.
CAUTION
Chainsonthetiresofonlyone
tandemaxlecandamagethe
drivelineU-jointsandtheinteraxle
differential.Repairscouldbecostly
andtime-consuming.Failureto
complymayresultinequipment
damage.
TowingtheVehicle
Towingthevehicleshouldbedone
byeitheranauthorizeddealer
oracommercialvehicletowing
service.Thedealerorcommercial
towingservicewillhavethenecessary
equipmenttosafelytowthevehicleand
shouldbeabletomakearrangements
tolimitanydamagetothevehicle.The
towingserviceandthedealershould
beawareoftowingregulationsand
safetyprecautions.
Thetowingservicewillensurethatthe
followingprecautionsaretaken:
•Useofasafetychainsystem.
•Abidebyalllocaltowing
regulations.
•Ensurethatthetowingdevice
doesnotcontactanysurfacesthat
couldbedamagedwhileintransit.
•Iftowingfromthefront,ensure
thattherearaxlesareprepared
fortowing.
•Iftowingfromtherear,ensure
thatallbodycomponentssuchas
roof,sideandchassisfairingsare
securedproperlytoavoiddamage
whileintransit.
WARNING
Securetheroof,sideandchassis
fairingswhiletowingfromtherear.
Anunsecuredfairingmaycome
offofthevehicleduringtransit.
Failuretosecurethefairingswhile
towingmaycauseaninjuryaccident
resultingindeathorpersonalinjury.
