Youwillhavetoaddlubricantto
preventdamageafteryourvehiclehas
beentowed.
1.Intothepinioncage,add1pint
(.47liter)oflubricantorintothe
interaxledifferential,add2pints
(.94liter)ofapprovedlubricant.
2.Afteraddingthespeciedtype
andamountoflubricant,drivethe
vehicle.Itshouldbeunloaded.
Drive1to2miles(1.5to3km)
ataspeedlowerthan25mph
(40km/h).Thiswillthoroughly
circulatethelubricantthroughthe
assembly.

Release
Recoveringavehiclerequiresthatyou
releasetheparkingbrakes.Theremay
betimeswhenthereisnotenoughair
pressuretoreleasetheparkingbrakes.
Insuchcases,theparkingbrakes
(orSpringBrakes)canbemanually
released.
WARNING
Donotdrivevehiclewith
malfunctioningbrakes.Ifoneof
thebrakecircuitsshouldbecome
inoperative,brakingdistanceswill
increasesubstantiallyandhandling
characteristicswhilebrakingwillbe
affected.Youcouldlosecontrolof
yourvehicleorcauseanaccident.
Haveittowedtothenearestdealer
orqualiedrepairfacilityforrepair.
Failuretocomplymayresultin
death,personalinjury,equipmentor
propertydamage.
Thebrakescanbereleasedinthis
mannershouldthepressureintheair
systemnotbeenoughtoreleasethem.
Thismayoccurininstanceswhere
theengine'saircompressorisnot
abletogetthesystemuptooperating
pressure.

Donotdisassembleaspring
brakechamber.Thesechambers
containapowerfulspringthatis
compressed.Suddenreleaseof
thisspringmayresultindeathor
