thetubingandelbows.Leaksinthe
intakesystemallowabrasivedustto
entertheengineandquicklycause
expensivedamage.Duringyourdaily
walk-aroundinspection,carefully
checkalltubing,elbows,clamps,
supportsandfastenersforcondition
andtightness.
•ChecktheCharge-Air-Coolerfor
airleaksannually.Theairleaks
canbecausedbycrackedtubes
orheader.Forserviceseeyour
authorizeddealer.
CAUTION
Donotuseairintakepipesand
connectionsasasteportopull
yourselfup.Thiscouldloosenthe
connectionsandopenthesystemto
unlteredairwhichcoulddamage
theengine.
Turbocharger
Whenservicingtheairintakeand
exhaustsystemsonaturbocharged
engine,checktheitemslistedbelow.
WARNING
Donotoperateenginewith
turbochargerintakepiping
disconnected.Asuctioniscreated
whentheengineisrunning.This
suctioncoulddrawyourhandor
anythingelsenearitintotheimpeller
fan.Youcouldbeinjured.Always
keeptheintakepipingconnected
whenyouwillberunningtheengine.
LubricatingSystem:Checktheoil
lines,housing,andconnections.Look
forleaks,damage,ordeterioration.
Leakscouldmeanyouhavedamaged
oillinesoroilseals.
Manifold:Withtheengineoperating,
checkforleakingmanifoldorange
gaskets.
