InspectionoftheEngineOil
Level
NOTE
Ittakesapproximately15minutes
foralltheoiltorunintothesump
whentheengineis‘warm.’Ifthe
levelischeckedimmediatelyafter
switchingofftheengine,thedipstick
willshowalowoillevel.
1.Makesurethatthevehicleframe
railisstandingonaatandlevel
surface.
2.Makesurethatthevehicleis
horizontal,bothlengthwiseand
crosswise.Checkthiscarefully
onavehiclewithairsuspension.
Notethattheenginemaybe
inclinedupto4°dependingonthe
vehiclemodelandwheelbase.
3.Twistthedipstickhandletounlock
it,thenpullthedipstickoutofthe
holder.
4.Wipethedipstickcleanwitha
lint-freecloth.
5.Placethedipstickbackintothe
holder.
6.Pullthedipstickoutagainand
checktheoillevel.Theoillevel
shouldalwaysbebetweenthe2
marksonthedipstick.
