COOLINGSYSTEM
•Theminimumuidlevelis
determinedbythelineonthe
surgetankindicatedbytheletters
“MIN”.Thisindicatorislocated
belowthellcap.
•Thecoolingsystemwillneeduid
ifthesurgetankleveldoesnotrise
tothe“MIN”lineregardlessifthe
systemishotorcold.
RellingYourRadiator
1.Ifyourcoolingsystemisbuiltwith
drainvalvesintheupperengine
coolantpipe,openthembefore
llingthesurgetank.
2.Closeanyopencoolantdrainsin
thesystem.
3.Removethesurgetankllcap
(donotremovethesurgetank
pressurecap).
4.Fillthesystemwithpremixed
coolantthroughthesurgetankll
cap.Pourcoolantatasteadyow
rateuntilthesurgetankisfull(to
thebaseofthellneck).Itmaybe
necessarytopausefor1minute
andthenre-lliftheuidlevel
dropped.
5.Closeanydrainvalvesthatwere
openedinStep1.
6.Starttheengineandidleatlow
RPM.
7.Duringlowrpmidle,airwillpurge
fromthecoolingsystemwhichwill
lowerthecoolantlevelinthesurge
tank.Continuetollthesurge
tankuntilthecoolantlevelremains
approximately½in.abovethe
"MIN"line.Thismaytakeupto2
minutes,dependingontheoutside
temperature.
8.Operatetheenginethrottle
untiltheoperatingtemperature
stabilizes(whenthethermostat
opens).
9.Fillthesurgetankasnecessary
toraisethecoolantlevelto½in.
abovethe“MIN”level.
10.Operatetheengineathighidlefor
another10minutesandthenll
thesurgetankagainto½”above
the“MIN”level.
11.Replacethesurgetankllcap.
Checkthecoolantlevelaftereachtrip.
Addcoolantasnecessary.Youmay
ndyourcoolantlevelisnotuptothe
correctlevelsoonafteryouhavelled
theradiator.Thismaybebecauseall
thetrappedairinthesystemhasnot
yetbeenpurged.Ittakesalittletime
foralloftheairtoleavethesystem
afteryoullyourradiator.
