withouttheparkingbrakesetand
wheelschockedsecurely.Ifthe
vehicleisnotsecuredtoprevent
uncontrolledvehiclemovement,it
couldrollandcausedeath,serious
personalinjuryordamagetothe
vehicle.
Tooperateyourvehiclesafely
andprotably,youneedsome
understandingofitsbrakesystems.

Brakeadjustmentandbrakebalance
mustbesetcarefullyto(1)make
themostefcientuseoftheforces
availableforbrakingand(2)allow
equalstoppingforcesatallwheels.
CAUTION
Theairbrakesystemofthis
vehiclewasconguredforONE
ofthefollowingoperations:tractor
ortruck,andcomplieswiththe
respectiveportionsofFMVSS121.
Atractorshallnotbeoperatedor
conguredasatruck,norshalla
truckbeoperatedorcongured
asatractor,withoutsignicant
modicationstotheairbrakesystem
inordertoretaincompliancewith
FMVSS121.Contactyourdealer
forinstructions.
Onceabrakesystemissetto
specications,changinganyoneof
itscomponentsoranycombinationof
componentsmaycausethesystem
tonotworkaswell.Allpartshave
toworktogethertoperformasthey
should.Anyreplacementcomponents
inyourbrakesystemshouldbeexactly
equaltotheoriginalcomponents.
Anychangesfromtheoriginal
specicationscanaffectthewhole
