CAUTION
Whenaddingoil,typesand
brandsofoilshouldnotbe
intermixedbecauseofpossible
incompatibility,whichcould
decreasetheeffectivenessofthe
lubricationorcausecomponent
failure.
Aninitialoilchangeandushshould
beperformedafterthetransmission
hasbeenplacedinactualservice.
Thischangeshouldbemadeanytime
after3000miles(4800km)butnever
longerthan5000miles(8000km)of
over-the-roadservice.Inoff-highway
use,thechangeshouldbemadeafter
24hoursbutbefore100hoursof
servicehaveelapsed.
Relling
Removealldirtaroundllerplug.Rell
withnewoilofthegraderecommended
fortheexistingseasonandprevailing
service.Filltothebottomofthe
leveltestingplugpositionedonthe
sideofthetransmission.Donot
overllthetransmission.Overlling
usuallyresultsinoilbreakdowndue
toexcessiveheatandaerationfrom
thechurningactionofthegears.Early
breakdownoftheoilwillresultinheavy
varnishandsludgedepositsthatplug
upoilportsandbuilduponthesplines
andbearings.Overowofoilcanalso
escapeontoclutchorparkingbrakes.
Whenaddingoil,donotmixdifferent
typesofoil.
