6. Remove the single bolt (with a 13
mm wrench) that holds the
solenoid to the filter housing.
7. Cover the air hose end and the
fitting with tape or something lint-
free to keep the hose free from
debris.
8. To reinstall the air solenoid to the
filter housing, tighten the 13 mm
bolt to 70 lb-in. ± 5 (7.9 N·m ± 0.56)
9. To reinstall the air line to the
solenoid, push the air hose into the
fitting, then pull on the air hose to
ensure that it is properly seated.
10. Verify that there are no air leaks,
start the engine and allow the air
system to reach operating
pressure. Activate the under hood
air switch and verify that there are
no air leaks.
Disconnecting the air solenoid will allow
the air filter housing to be removed to
access the air filter.
Air Filter Restriction Indicator
(Option)
An Air Filter Restriction Indicator may be
installed on the air filter housing or air
induction piping for access to clean, filtered
air.
As the filter plugs and restriction increases,
a red indicator will appear in a window on
the indicator. When red appears, the air
filter should be replaced. The indicator can
