Install Engine Belt
You can extend the reliability and service
life of your vehicle's drive belts with proper
attention to installation and maintenance.
Neglect could cause belt failure. The result
could be the loss of the electrical or air
system as well as possible engine damage
from overheating.
NOTE
See the engine manufacturer's opera-
tor's manual for further information on
replacing engine drive belts.
The images below may not appear like the
configuration of the vehicle. The procedure
is still the same. Follow this procedure to
install an accessory drive belt:
1. Route the new belt around the
pulleys, and then rotate the
automatic tensioner so that the
idler pulley swings toward the belt
routing. The following figure shows
an example of the rotation direction
to release the tensioner.
