Air-Controlled Sliding Fifth Wheel
(option)
Vehicles that have an air-controlled sliding
fifth wheel have a fifth wheel slider lock
controlled by a switch on the accessory
switch panel. T
o operate this type of lock,
move the switch to the appropriate
position. By placing the switch in the
UNLOCK position, you can slide the fifth
wheel to various positions to adjust weight
distribution. There is a guard on this switch
to protect you against accidentally
activating or releasing the lock.
WARNING
Do not move the fifth wheel while the
tractor-trailer
is in motion. Your load
could shift suddenly, causing you to
lose control of the vehicle, which can
result in an accident. Never operate
the vehicle with the switch in the UN-
LOCK
position. Always inspect the
fifth wheel after you lock the switch to
be sure the fifth wheel lock is engag-
ed. Failure to comply may result in
property damage, personal injury, or
death.
