2. Install new seal (3) (not shown) to inlet manifold
temperature sensor (1).
3. Install inlet manifold temperature sensor (1) to inlet
manifold temperature sensor housing (4).
4. Install Allen head bolt (2). Tighten the Allen head
bolt to a torque of 10 N·m (89 lb in)

Glow Plugs - Remove and
Install
Removal Procedure
Start By:
a. Remove the combined inlet manifold
temperature and pressure sensor. Refer to
Disassembly and Assembly, “Inlet Manifold
Temperature and Pressure Sensor - Remove
and Install” for the correct procedure.
NOTICE
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.
Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened
component life.
1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF
position.
2. If necessary, remove the Exhaust Gas
Recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to Disassembly
and Assembly, “ Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve -
Remove and Install” for the correct procedure.

3. Disconnect wiring harness (1) from the glow plugs
(2).
Note: Make temporary identification marks on the
wiring harness assembly for installation purposes.
4. Clean the area around the glow plugs. Ensure that
the area is free from contamination before removal
of the glow plugs.
5. Use a deep socket in order to remove glow plugs
(2) from the cylinder head.
Installation Procedure
NOTICE
