7.3.2.4 DEF Tank & Header Unit
The DEF tank header unit is used to provide a means of thawing the DEF
within the tank via engine coolant connections. In addition the header unit
houses a DEF level switch which is used to communicate the level of DEF
within the tank and as a feed into emissions control strategies. A DEF
Temperature sensor is also used as an input to the coolant diverter valve
control strategy.
