Engine coolant temperature rises to a value above the severity level 3
threshold.
Engine action = Event code E361-3 (or J1939 110-00) is raised and the
engine warning lamp is activated. The engine stores the event code
but does not begin to shut down due to the engine monitoring system
shutdowns being disabled.
14.2 Non Emissions Critical component Monitoring &
Protection
All of the components / parameters shown here offer some level of
configurability and / or are effected by the configuration of the engine
monitoring system levels i.e. warn, derate and shutdown.
14.2.1 Coolant Temperature
14.2.1.1 Coolant Temperature Monitoring Mode Operation
The high engine coolant temperature monitoring mode is configured to
indicate to the operator that the engine coolant temperature has exceed a pre-
determined threshold. The configuration of these thresholds can be adjusted
by the user to determine when a Severity Level 1, 2 and 3 is activated. The
table below shows the default configuration for this mode.

Table 14.3 Coolant Temperature Monitoring Mode Derate Operation
Once the engine ECM detects that the engine coolant temperature has
exceeded one or more of the defined threshold limits a corresponding event
code is raised as shown below.
