The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the
following conditions:
•
The engine has been running for at least 5
seconds.
•
The engine speed is at least 350 rpm.
•
Engine oil pressure is lower than the threshold for
low oil pressure for more than 2 seconds.
•
100-03 “Engine Oil Pressure open/short to +batt” is
not active.
•
100-04 “Engine Oil Pressure short to ground” is
not active.
•
100-10 Engine Oil Pressure Sensor abnormal rate
of change is not active.
System Response:
The ECM will log the event. The ECM wi ll reset the
warning when the oil pressure rises 21 kPa (3 psi)
above the thre
shold for at least four seconds.

Test Step 1. Check for Active Diagnostic
Codes.
A. Start the electronic service tool.
B. Turn the main
power to the ON position.
C. Check for any Active Diagnostic Codes or Logged
Diagnostic C
odes.
Expected Result:
There should be no diagnostic codes that are present.
Results:
•
OK –Therearenodiagnosticcodesthatare
present. Pr
oceed to test step 2.
•
Not OK – There are diagnostic codes that are
present.
Repair: Repair the diagnostic codes that are
present. Re
fer to the appropriate topic in the
“Troubleshooting With a Diagnostic Code” section
of this manual. Ensure that the repair eliminates
the proble
m.

Engine Lubrication System.
