A. Disconnect P1 from the ECM.
Note: Do not disconnect P40 Fuel Injection Pump
Connector.
B. Measure the resistance between terminal P1:48
and terminal P1:58.
Expected Result:
The readi
ngs should be between 100 and 132 ohms.
Results:
OK Proceed to Test Step 3.
Not OK
Repair: There is an open circuit in the harness
between t
he P1 ECM connector and the control
unit for the fuel injection pump. Repair the harness
and/or replace the harness.
STOP.

A. Disconnect P1 from the ECM.
Note: Do not disconnect P40 Fuel injection Pump

B. Measure the resistance between terminal P1:58

nal P1:40.
C. Measure the resistance between terminal P1:48
and term
inal P1:40.
Expected Result:
The readings should be more than 5,000 ohms.
Results:
OK Proceed to Test Step 4.
Not OK
Repair: T
here is a short circuit in the harness
between the P1 ECM connector and the control
unit for the fuel injection pump. Repair the harness
and/or r
eplace the harness.
STOP.
Test Step 4. Verify the Supply Voltage at
the Fuel Injection Pump
A. Turn the
keyswitch to the OFF position.
B. Disconnect the P40 connector from the fuel
inject
ion pump.
