INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - STAIR NOSE
The stair nose application of the 5 in 1 multifunctional molding requires the use of an aluminum
sub-prole. Make sure you have the correct prole for the oor you are installing and that
you have enough materials lo complete the installation. Please familiarize yourself with these
instructions and contact your retailer with any questions. Proper installation requires time,
preparation and patience.
Dimensions and stair congurations vary greatly, so these instructions are intended to address
the most common installation types. Contact your retailer for questions about customizing the
5 in 1 multifunctional molding for your specic application.
Before beginning the project, ensure all stair treads are checked and found to be structurally
sound, at, dry and clean. All leveling for wear in the treads should be addressed prior to
attempting to cover them with ooring. Ensure that your nal installation will not be in violation
of any applicable building codes. These instructions ore intended for residential applications
only.
This installation will require the use of power tools. Make sure to familiarize yourself with all
instructions and warnings for the safe use of these tools.
Tools and Supplies Required
• Chop saw with a non-ferrous blade
• Drill
• Screwdriver and screws (Use #6 or #8 counter-sunk wood screws, 1½")
• Metal grade drill bit
• Caulking gun, gap lling construction grade adhesive and cloths for clean-up
• Putty knife
• Adjustable square and measuring tape
• Hammer
• Shims
• Utility knife
• Flat 2mm non-tapered shims (ex. popsicle stick)
• Roll of duct tape

Stair nose conguration
As a stair nose, the 5 in 1 multifunctional molding can be set up in either a ush mount or
overlap application. The same aluminum sub-prole is used for either application. Remember
that the sub-proles are ooring thickness specic, so make sure you have ordered and
received the correct piece. The overlap function must be used for landings and other areas
