Laminate Wood
PERGO laminate floors are made from wood and built on a platform for that adds strength
and stability. They feature a décor printed with a high-definition process and advanced
embossing and texturing techniques to make the planks look and feel like genuine solid
hardwood. These floors range in thickness, but the premium quality core provides a more
stable floor and a more natural sound. PERGO laminate floors feature a protective surface
coating for superior durability with guaranteed performance against water, stains, and
wear.
Engineered Wood
PERGO engineered wood floors are true wood decors engineered for better performance
and easier installation. They feature a genuine hardwood veneer pressed onto a fortified
wood core to add strength and stability. Protective coatings augment the surface to
enhance the floor’s endurance so you can live an active life without worries of harming the
floor.
Both engineered hardwood and laminate wood are made from organic materials, but
they can be installed in places that solid hardwood floors just won’t go.
Waterproof vs. Waterproof and Water-tight
Many laminate or engineered wood floors and luxury vinyl floors oer waterproof protection;
however, the technologies are not all the same. While luxury vinyl planks feature a plastic-
based core and are waterproof throughout, the wood-based floors use a waterproof surface
to protect the core like a raincoat.
In both cases, if the floor’s joints are not water-tight, liquids may still be able to leak through
and cause damage to the subfloor underneath. No matter what type of waterproof system is
used, if the joints of the floor are not water-tight, liquids can get through. PERGO floors oer
SpillProtect® technology — a top-down waterproofing system that combines a waterproof
coating with water-tight joints that lock liquids on top of the floor.
Durability
PERGO floors oer superior performance when resisting stains and wear. Even paint and
nail polish can be cleaned away with the appropriate cleaners. (See warranty for complete
details.) The premium quality core material allows for added stability, and the surface
textures oer a more natural feel when standing or walking.
