Balance’s IP is 192.168.1.1) to test whether the connection to the Peplink Balance is OK.
Problem 5
What can I do if I suspect a problem on my Internet/WAN connection?
Solution
You can test the WAN connection using ping, as in the solution to Problem 4. As we want to isolate the
problems from the LAN, ping will be performed from the Peplink Balance. By using Ping/Traceroute
under the Status tab of the Peplink Balance, you may able to find the source of problem.
Problem 6
When I upload files to a server via FTP, the transfer stalls after a few kilobytes of data are sent. What
should I do?
Solution
The maximum transmission unit (MTU) or MSS setting may need to be adjusted. By default, the MTU is
set at 1440. Choose Auto for all of your WAN connections. If that does not solve the problem, you can try
the MTU 1492 if a connection is DSL. If problem still persists, change the size to progressive smaller
values until your problem is resolved (e.g., 1462, 1440, 1420, 1400, etc).
