Operation Manual
3.4 POI menu
In the POI menu ("POI" option in the main menu), you can change all the settings related to points of interest (POI). The
menu includes the following options:
Display
In this option you can specify the categories of POIs displayed on the map; refer to section "POI on the map". For more
details, refer to section "Displaying POIs on the map".
Favourites
Displays and edits the user's favourite POIs.
Management
In this option, you can manage the POIs you have defined or added to the system.
The POI are displayed in the form of a list, composed of a category icon, as
well as the name and description of the POI. A map square to the left
means that the POI will be displayed on the map. POI can be filtered by
name (by entering part of that name or description in the "Name" field) or
by category (by selecting one category of POI after tapping the option
"Any").
After selecting a category, you can easily delete selected POIs, as the
category icon disappears, only to be replaced with a recycle bin. After
clicking the icon, you can select any point to be deleted. After selecting
POIs for deleting, click the Delete button and Delete selected. (You can
also select all points in the chosen category, by selecting Delete, then
Select All.)
By pushing the File button, the user can conduct any basic
operations on the file, where the information on POIs is stored (or
actually a pair of files, with extensions .poi and .poipts).
The heading of this menu will feature information about the currently
loaded file.
The Load standard file option loads the default file (i.e. files default.poi
and default.poipts from the "Data Files" folder).
Create new file – creates a new, empty POI file.
Load file – loads a different, existing POI file.
Save file – creates a copy of the currently loaded file with a new name and/or in a new location.
Add from file – loads POIs from a selected file to the currently loaded file.
Import – loads POIs from a file compatible with the AutoMapa 3 format (.uam) or in the text format (.csv file). This
option allows the user to load POIs from miplo.pl website (.uam format). The system will ask the user whether to create a
separate file for imported POI. If you answer "No", your points are added to the current POI file; if you choose "Yes", a
new POI file will be created in the same folder as the imported file.
By tapping one of the points on the list, you can open a context menu which, apart from the items described above, also
features an "Edit..." button. By editing a POI, you can change its category, name or description.
In this option you can edit and delete POIs or import POI files from other AutoMapa users or users of webservices (such
as miplo.pl).
Warnings
The screen is used for selecting POI categories that are interesting to the user and for selecting the nature of "warning" of
