3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
General: Crystalline silica. Routes of entry into the body include skin contact, inhalation,
ingestion, and eye contact.
Emergency Overview: Brownish colored granules. Possible nuisance dust may be present with application of
this product.
Threshold Limit Value: OSHA Limits: Total =15 Respirable = 5
Signs & Symptoms of Exposure: Acute Overexposure may irritate respiratory system, eyes and skin.
Chronic Overexposure: May cause pneumoconiosis

Aggravated by Exposure: Existing respiratory system disease(s), existing skin or eye conditions

National Toxicology: The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies crystalline silica
inhaled in the form of quartz or cristobalite from occupational sources as carcinogenic to
humans, Group 1. The National Toxicology Program (NTP) classifies respirable
crystalline silica as a substance which may be reasonably anticipated to be a carcinogen.
OSHA: OSHA does not regulate crystalline silica as a human carcinogen.
