These are the user controls for the on-board optical tube-type compressor circuit. When the ENABLE
switch is engaged, the COMPRESSION control is functional as indicated by the LED located above the
ENABLE switch. (Note: This switch must be depressed for the remote switch to operate.) When this
mode is active, the COMPRESSION LED on the footswitch is on (green). This compressor is highly level-
sensitive and triggered from the rst tube stage, so it has a wide range of compression to account for
a variety of active and passive basses. Although the trigger is before all EQ, the compression occurs
between the rotary EQ and graphic EQ to avoid clipping in the graphic and beyond.

This switch engages a passive low cut circuit to lter extreme low frequencies, pre EQ, to allow for more
headroom at higher gain settings.

This switch places the GRAPHIC EQ into the signal path in it's "in" position (denoted by the LED to
the right of the switch) and provides a total bypass in it's "out" position. (NOTE: This switch must be
depressed for the remote switch to operate).

The VB-3 utilizes a footswitchable solid-state 9-band "constant-Q" graphic equalizer to allow for opti-
mal tone shaping, for which the GRAPHIC EQ SWITCH can provide a total bypass. The frequency centers
were chosen to have more "harmonically pleasing" centers rather than being evenly spaced for the sake
of convention. Each slider provides +/- 15dB of cut or boost, in each respective band.
