9. Recommended lighting levels
9.1. Introduction
To ensure a safe working environment and to minimize eyestrain,
work surfaces, such as office tables, countertops or workrooms
should generally have a good illumination, but at the same time
are not blinding. For this, there are recommendations which can
be found in the following table.
In addition, there are a variety of rules for different industries or
trade associations, which hold different values for precisely
