8. Lightsources and correction factors
8.1 Light Sources
Different color spectra of light sources would require different
sensors in order to obtain comparable measurements of the
illuminance. To get around this, you can select and store nine
different correction factors for light sources with the PeakTech
5086, which can be selected for the current light source. Through
this, the measured value which is based on a conventional light
bulb with 2856K and daylight LED correction, is changed by the
selected factor.
Example: Measured value = 2000 Lux x (correction factor) 0.8
Corrected value = 1600 Lux
8.2. Selection of the light source
The PeakTech 5086 has nine presets (L1 to L9) for correction
factors. The default factor for the 2856K lamp is 1,000.

2) Press the ▼ ▲ arrow buttons to select another light
source.
3) Press the HOLD/LS key (9) for about 2 seconds to
switch back to the normal measurement function with
the selected light source (L1 to L9).
8.3. Change the correction factor
1) Press and hold the HOLD/LS key (9) and the number of
the active light source (L1 to L9) starts to flash.
