4.15. Power amplifier
The unit has an integrated power amplifier. This is an independent module and must be connected for use
between the output jack of your generator and the input jack of your consumers.
To amplify the output signal, connect the input signal with the input of your amplifier to obtain a dual
amplified signal on the rear panel (P output – socket) of your device. The input signal can be output from
channel A, channel B, or TTL of the signal generator. It can also be the signal from another device.
4.15.1. Input voltage:
The multiple of the power amplifier is double and the maximum output amplitude is 22 Vpp. So the maximum
input amplitude should be limited within 11 Vpp. The output signal will be distorted beyond the limitation.
4.15.2. Frequency range:
The frequency range of the power amplifier is 100Hz ~ 10kHz. Within the range, the amplitude flatness is
better than 3%; distortion is less than 1%; The highest frequency can reach 200 kHz.
4.15.3. Output power:
* The expression of power for the power amplifier is P = V
2
/ R
* Where, P is the output power (the unit is W), V is the output virtual amplitude value (the unit is Vrms), R is
the load resistance (the unit is W).
* The maximum output amplitude can reach 22 Vpp (7.8Vrms) and the minimum load resistance can be
2 W.
Besides, the higher the temperature of the working environment, the larger is the frequency of the output
signal. The less the distortion of the output signal, the smaller the maximum output power. Usually, the
maximum output power can reach 10 W.
