5.2. Resetable fuse
The PeakTech
®
1020 is supplied with an automatic circuit breaker, by this
means any changing of fuses is not needed. If the current is higher than the
measuring range of the unit, the inputs will be cut off. When the current falls
down in the 200mA-range, so the value will be shown in the LCD.
5.3. Preliminary Note
1. To check the batteries please switch on the DMM. If the battery is
weak, a "BAT" sign will appear on the right of Display. If this does not
appear on the display proceed as below. See "Maintenance" if the
battery has to be replaced.
2. The warning sign next to the test leads jack is for warning that the input
voltage or current should not exceed the indicated values. This is to
prevent damage to the internal circuitry.
3. The function switch should be set to the range which you want to test
before operation.
5.4. DC Voltage Measurement
1. Set the function switch to the V position.
2. Press the MODE-button to indicate “DC” on the display.
3. Touch the black test probe tip to the negative side of the circuit. Touch
the red test probe tip to the positive side of the circuit.
4. Read the voltage in the display.
Note:
1. When only the figure "OL" is displayed, overrange is being indicated
and the Function switch must be set to a higher range.
2. CAUTION: Do not apply more than 600 V to the input. Indication is
possible at higher voltages but there is danger of damaging the internal
circuitry.
3. Use extreme caution to avoid contact with high tension circuits when
measuring high voltage.
