1. Press > and touch Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock.
2. Touch PIN.
3. Enter a PIN, touch Continue, and then enter your PIN again to confirm it.
Use a Screen Unlock Password
1. Press > and touch Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock.
2. Touch Password.
3. Enter a password, touch Continue, and then enter your password again to confirm it.
Disable the Screen Lock
1. Press > and touch Settings > Location & security > Change screen lock.
2. Enter your PIN or password and touch None.
Passwords
The phone can be set to show the characters of passwords as they are entered, allowing you to
see what you have entered. To enable Visible passwords:
1. Press > and touch Settings > Location & security.
2. Select the Visible passwords check box.
Device Administration
The Device administration setting allows you to disable an application's authority to be a device
administrator.
Select Device Administrators
The Select device administrators menu opens a screen with a list of the applications you have
authorized to be device administrators for your phone. These are typically email, calendar, or
other enterprise applications that you granted this authority to, when you added an account
hosted by an enterprise service that requires the ability to implement security policies on the
devices that connect to it.
1. Press > and touch Settings > Location & security > Select device
administrators.
2. Touch an application in the list to disable its authority to be a device administrator.
If you do so, the account you added will typically lose some functionality in its applications, such
as the ability to sync new email or calendar events to your phone, until you restore the
