Special Applications
Some applications (for example, online games,
videoconferencing and IP phone) require multiple ports
open for communication, and may be initiated by a
computer on the WAN.
With port triggering, the device monitors outgoing data
on specific port numbers (trigger ports), and keeps
track of the IP address of the computer that sends data
on the trigger ports, so that the device sends the
incoming data to the same computer, when incoming
data on the forward ports arrives.
To configure port triggering for special applications:
1. From the Web management page, click the
Settings tab.
2. Select Security > Special Applications.
3. Refer to the following table to set the parameters of
the port triggering:
4. Select Add to add the rule entry to the list, select
Apply to save the configuration, or select Cancel to
cancel the configuration.
DMZ
A DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) is used to forward the
packets from the WAN without a port mapping to the
host defined in the DMZ.
To configure the DMZ:
1. From the Web management page, click the
Settings tab.
2. Select Security > DMZ Settings.
