Firewall Switch
The firewall is designed to permit or deny network
transmissions based upon a set of rules and is
frequently used to protect networks from unauthorized
or unverified access while permitting legitimate
communications to pass.
To configure the firewall switch:
1. From the Web management page, click the
Settings tab.
2. Select Security > Firewall Switch.
3. Select or clear the following switches to enable or
disable the corresponding features:
䡲 Enable the firewall(main switch of the firewall)
䡲 Enable IP address filter
䡲 Disable WAN port ping
4. Select Apply to save the configuration, or select
Cancel to cancel the configuration.
LAN IP Filter
When the firewall feature is enabled, you can use the IP
incoming filter to receive certain specified IP packets
on the WAN side, and use the IP outgoing filter to
prevent the LAN side from sending certain IP packets.
