Wi-Fi Settings
The WPS protocol simplifies the process of configuring
the security of wireless networks and automatically
configures a wireless network with a network name
(SSID) and strong WPA data encryption and
authentication supported by all Wi-Fi certified devices.
WPS provides simplified security for home users who
may not be well-versed in wireless security issues.
To add a new device to the device, WPS can be used
in the following two methods:
䢇 PBC (Push Button Configuration)
The PBC method is to be used if the wireless client
device is provided with a WPS button (either an actual
one or a virtual one). For the device side, press and
hold the WLAN (Wi-Fi) button for about five seconds or
more to start a WPS negotiation. For the client side,
please see the user documentation for the wireless
client.
䢇 PIN (Personal Identification Number)
PIN is a mandatory method of the setup of all WPS
certified devices. The device supports using the PIN
code that is pre-defined by the wireless client.
To configure the WPS PIN:
1. From the Web management page, click the
Settings tab.
2. Select WiFi > WPS Setting.
3. Enter the PIN code that is generated by the
wireless client in
WPS PIN Code input field.
4. Select Apply to apply the configuration, or select
Cancel to cancel the configuration.
Tip: Approximately two minutes after you apply the
configuration, the device receives the access request
from the wireless client.
