MAC Filter Settings
The MAC (Media Access Control) filter is used to grant
or block wireless devices access to the Wi-Fi network.
Access is based on the MAC address of each wireless
device.
MAC filtering can prevent the unauthorized wireless
devices from connecting to your network, so as to
increasing the security of your network. This makes it
harder for a hacker to use a MAC address to access
your network.
To configure the MAC filter:
1. From the Web management page, click the
Settings tab.
2. Select WiFi > MAC Filter.
3. Select one of the following three modes:
䡲 Disabled: No filtering. All computers are allowed
to access the network.
䡲 Allow: Only computers that are added to the list
are allowed to access the network.
䡲 Deny: All computers are allowed to access the
network except for the computers that are added
to the list.
If you select
Allow or Deny mode, add or remove
the MAC addresses of computers from the list.
4. Select Apply to save the configuration, or select
Cancel to cancel the configuration.
