Card Security Code Responses
If a Card security code match fails, PayPal displays the CSC response “N” and the transaction
fails. If the response is other than “N,” Paypal does not reject the transaction.
15004 Gateway decline You entered a CSC that doesn’t
match this card. Re-enter the
correct information.
The transaction was declined
because the CSC entered does
not match the credit card.
15005 Processor decline Your card issuer, not PayPal,
declined this transaction. Ask
your buyer for another card.
The transaction was declined by
the issuing bank, not PayPal.
The merchant should attempt
another card.
15006 Processor decline Your card issuer, not PayPal,
declined this transaction. Ask
