Activating and Configuring the
Buyer Authentication Service

Service.

Building Customer Confidence
Buyer Authentication reduces your risk and builds your customers' confidence. The card
brands make marketing resources available to you to promote your Web site and logos you can
build into your checkout process.

Enrolling in the Buyer Authentication Service
Fraud Protection Service is required to enroll in Buyer Authentication service, and both your
processor and merchant bank must support Buyer Authentication service.
NOTE: Buyer Authentication is not available if PayPal is your merchant bank.
To view the Buyer Authentication setup page, log into Manager
https://manager.paypal.com.
Click Buyer Authentication in the Service Summary box, or go to Service Settings >
Fraud Protection > Buyer Authentication. On the Buyer Authentication setup page, if both
your processor and merchant bank support the Buyer Authentication service, follow the on-
screen instructions to activate this service. See Configuring Buyer Authentication for more
information.
If you cannot access the Buyer Authentication page from the Service Summary box or from the
Fraud Protection tab, please contact Customer Service to enroll.
