1. Introduction Welcome to your PT‐80 Tablet PC. To ensure the optimal performance of this product, please take the time to read this manual carefully. The PT‐80 is a rugged tablet designed for use in correctional facilities. Explanation of Advisements In this manual we use three (3) levels of Advisements as follows: The Note symbol is used for notifying the user of something important or of something that needs special attention.

Managing Device Power Docking station You can charge the PT‐80 tablet using a Docking station. The docking station has a DC input and a USB Port, the docking connecter is shown in the layout Front view in chapter 2.
Use only the docking station included with your Tablet PC. Using other docking stations may damage the device. Power Supply and Batteries The PT‐80 device has one rechargeable battery. Android OS will give battery warnings at certain battery levels. If the PT‐80 device is not charged or powered by the power supply, the PT‐80 device will shut down automatically. Checking the charging Level To check the battery charge level of the PT‐80, the battery monitor is shown on the Android Top navigation bar. Power LED Behavior on the Docking station The Power LED will only shine when the Power adapter is plugged in. Green — Fully charged Blue — Charging 4. Adjusting the Volume To adjust the volume, use the Volume Up and Down buttons on the upper side of the PT‐80 device. For position references, see the layout in Chapter two. Use in direct sunlight or in any other hot environment may cause the PT‐80 device to develop hot surfaces. There is a built‐in temperature sensor that monitors the device temperature. If the sensor detects high internal temperature, the device will automatically trigger a Shut Down. It may take a while before PT‐80 device can be restarted as the unit may first need time to cool down. 2.3 Electricity The device contains no user serviceable parts. Do not open the case of the PT‐80 Tablet Device.
