(not included)
Cable
Adapter
Cable
Suspension Column
1. Cut off the cable near the bottom of the adapter. (See Figure 1)
2. Install suspension column by screwing onto stem of fixture while
pulling cable from above. Fastening cable by screwing headless
screw, using supplied flat head screwdriver.
3. Thread the cable through the canopy and two holes of the strain
relief in order.
4. Measure the desired length of the cable (A) from the canopy to
the top side of the suspension column and leave an additional
9" of cable (B) above the canopy (include the canopy). Then
cut off the unnecessary cable. (See Figure 2)
5. Adjust strain relief at 9" position from the top of the cord.
6. Mark the 3" of cord (C) from the top of the cord (B). Use a knife
to peel off the insulation of the cord (C) carefully to expose the
3 wires on the inside. (See Figure 2)
CAUTION: Too deep cutting may damage the insulation
layer of the three wires inside.
7. Peel off the 3 wires from the top about 3/8" long(D) to expose
the copper for wiring.
8. Thread the screws into the provided holes of the mounting strap
as shown. Thread the lock nuts onto the screws. Do not tighten
the lock nuts at this time.
9. Attach the mounting strap to the outlet box by using two mounting
screws.
10. Carefully inspect the fixture wires, the NEUTRAL wire (with a white
line along its length), the HOT wire (clear), the GROUND wire
(with a green line along its length) BEFORE making wire connections.
11. Attach the ground wire from the fixture to the ground wire from the outlet box (usually green
insulation or bare wire). Fasten each together with a wire nut and wrap the connection
with electrical tape. Be sure that no wire strands are exposed. If your outlet box does not
have a ground wire, be sure to insert the green ground screw into the mounting strap marked as
"GND", and wrap the fixture's bare ground wire around the green ground screw.
12. Connect the NEUTRAL wire from the fixture to the NEUTRAL wire from the outlet box . Fasten
each together with a wire nut and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Be sure that no wire
strands are exposed.
13. Connect the HOT wire from the fixture to the HOT wire from the outlet box. Fasten each together
with a wire nut and wrap the connection with electrical tape. Be sure that no wire strands are
exposed.
14. Carefully, tuck all the wires and wire nuts into the Outlet Box.
